Abstract
Magnetic Resonance Elastography (MRE) is an MRI-based technique that allows measurement of the mechanical properties (i.e. stiffness) of tissues.
MRE is available at SUMS and can be used in routine clinical practice to non-invasively measure the grade of liver fibrosis.
The goal of this presentation is to demonstrate the scope offered by MRE for fundamental research and the quantitative methods that have been developed will be illustrated.
A wide range of applications of MRI in general and MRE in particular for research in Reproductive Health, and involving imaging of uterus, muscle and brain will be described, and ideas for future work presented.
