Abstract
This presentation will highlight selected healthcare technologies developed at the Centre of Excellence for Advanced Sensor Technology (CEASTech), Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP), with emphasis on the integration of intelligent sensing, artificial intelligence and real-world healthcare applications.
The first technology, AISense, focuses on contactless physiological monitoring using radar sensing and AI. The system is designed to monitor vital signs such as respiration and related physiological patterns without requiring sensors to be attached directly to the patient. AI-based analysis is further applied to identify and classify abnormal patterns, with potential applications in continuous patient monitoring, sleep assessment, home healthcare and early warning of physiological changes.
The second technology, iHealth, focuses on intelligent management of biomedical equipment in hospitals. By integrating wireless tracking, IoT connectivity and data analytics, the platform provides real-time information on equipment location, movement, availability and utilisation. This can help healthcare providers reduce time spent searching for equipment, improve asset utilisation and support maintenance and operational planning. Both systems are being tested and evaluated in healthcare environments in Malaysia.
