Immunohistochemistry and histochemistry are techniques used for the identification and visualization of molecules in cells and tissues. These techniques have been, and still are of the utmost importance in clinical and life science.
The aim of this overview is to:
- Explain basic histological and staining techniques.
- Describe some principles for the evaluation of result and the optimization of protocol.
- Get a taste of the capabilities offered by the Deltavision high-resolution imaging system.
- Illustrate basic 3D-reconstruction and modelling using confocal microscopy and IMARIS software.
